Chapter 1244 A Rough Plan

"Now he's beginning to think I'm a miser or something."

Beyond the far-flung reaches of Greater Beyond's universe, a young woman and young man within a large white structure began to bicker with one another, their focus mostly on the screen in front of him.

"Well, I did ask you if you wanted to be the one to give those skills to him," replied Adam to Eve's words with a slight shrug. "Then again, you were the one who said that who gave what skills to him didn't matter in the long run."

"You could've talked me out of it, no?" Eve looked back at him with a slight pout. "Sure, it doesn't matter in the long run, but between the two of us, I've been talking with him for far longer!"

"And?" Adam slightly shook his head at the absurdity of her words. "It's not like this would be the only time we'd talk with him. Remember that you gave him your mark."

"Well, I did, but…" Just as Eve planned on coming up with another counterargument to his words, the young woman decided not to pursue the matter any further, letting out a sigh in the process.

"Ah, whatever."

Taking a bit of time to recompose himself, she eventually looked back at Adam with a calm expression before glancing at the screen in front of her. "With all things said, I'm surprised he was able to quickly adapt to the fact that he now has to juggle between two identities."

"It's not really that surprising," replied Adam, bringing up a screen beside the one they were currently looking at. "Although it hasn't been that long, Valyr's already been juggling between two identities for the past couple of months."

"In fact, before he and his past self broke the laws of time paradox, he was even beginning to juggle through three identities at once."

"Valyr, Ylvar, and another unnamed identity, huh," muttered Eve as she looked at the screen that was just brought up, nodding in understanding. "I guess you could say he unknowingly built a foundation for his current situation."

"Then again… do you think I… we made the right choice here, Adam?" she asked not long after, looking at Adam with uncertainty on her face. "Do you think it's a good idea to place our hopes into him?"

"I mean… if not him, then who else?" answered Adam after giving it a bit of thought. "Not long did he inherit one of the Grand Progenitors' wills, he also has an idea of what might befall their universe once the right moment comes."

"Considering that he's accepted his current situation rather than fall into despair because of it, I'd say sparing them from their inevitable death was undoubtedly the right choice this time."

"…Thank you," said Eve the moment Adam was done explaining, looking at the young man with gratitude. "I needed to hear that." Nôv(el)B\\jnn

"Don't mention it." Adam faintly smiled in response. "It's the least I can do as your older brother."

"…You mean younger brother. I was the one who came first, no?"

"Nope. Pretty sure I was the one who came first. The divine creation myth isn't written that way for no reason."

"Tch." Clicking her tongue in response to Adam's words, Eve decided to shift the topic of their conversation back to something related to Valyr, recalling a certain fear she had about the matter.

"Now that I think about it, do you think Lilith would catch wind of this?"

"I wouldn't be surprised if she already did." Adam shrugged at the question. "She isn't called One for a reason, after all."

"Then, why hasn't she said anything to us about it yet?" asked Eve with a look of slight concern. "Does that mean she supports what we're doing?"

"I wouldn't be too sure about that." Adam shook his head in slight uncertainty. "After all, you know how she operates."

"Yeah." Eve's expression turned serious at those words. "Guess that means we need to make it difficult for her to catch onto what we're doing for the meantime."

"You'll help me, right?"

"I mean… I did talk to Valyr, after all. If not me, then who else?"

'Well, there really isn't much reason to think Adam gave me better skills.' Just as the thought of comparing what skills the two gave them came to mind, Valyr immediately shut the train of thought down.

'After all, one way or another, they must've planned to give all of these skills to me.'

'With that being said…'

Whoosh!

Closing all of the screens he brought up, Valyr began to make his way back to where most of the people were as he asked himself, "What path should I choose?"

As these words left his mouth, the young man thought back to when he appeared in Veldanyr for the first time, asking the same question to himself as he kept the final battle in mind.

Although he still kept the final battle in mind as he mulled over the question this time around, it could be said that Valyr now had a more relaxed approach to the matter, especially after confirming that he could still access all of his progress in his other identity.

'…Well, one thing's for sure.' Loitering near the front of a random building, the gears in the young man's mind began to turn as he eventually came up with answers to his own question.

'I won't be choosing the path of a blacksmith again.'

Of course, as he arrived at this answer, Valyr had a few good reasons in mind as to why he thought choosing a different path to power was better.

For one, he'd already gone through the path of blacksmithing in his other identity. In fact, with how much he'd experienced thus far, he brought the path of blacksmithing to a realm that he thought was inconceivable at his class rank.

Although choosing the same path undoubtedly assured him stability in his new journey to higher power, it wouldn't really offer him much overall.

Aside from that, he also took the skill [Soul Fusion] into consideration, thinking that it would be redundant for him to pick up the path of blacksmithing again if he'd have access to abilities on both identities.

"Hmm…" Softly closing his eyes as he continued to ponder over the question, the various starting classes gradually surfaced within the young man's mind as he weighed the pros and cons of each class.

From the six starting combat classes to the four starting production classes, the young man eventually felt one of the classes resonate with him, prompting him to open his eyes as they gleamed with excitement.

"I've got it," muttered Valyr to himself with a slight grin on his face.

"I'm gonna become a mage."
