Floating Island - Triple S Talent

Chapter 102: Opening an Epic chest

"Brother, a few days ago I started school and managed to make some friends," said Nita with a smile.

"The learning system at the New Life University is also very advanced, completely different from the high school I used to attend."

During the journey, Nita shared her experiences at the New Life University, which had just officially opened. The sophistication of the learning system at that university was unmatched by any schools on Earth before.

"Yes, of course. That's only natural, considering the arrival of the new system," replied Lein from his seat.

The two siblings continued to chat, enjoying the beauty of the night sky. They deliberately rolled down the car window, letting the cool night breeze brush their faces, as if washing away the heat of the day.

The journey from Laras' house to City Hall took an hour, even though they were using a flying car, not teleportation.

Upon arriving home, Nita went straight to her room to continue her routine hobbies of drawing and writing. Meanwhile, Lein moved toward the secret room in the basement of City Hall.

Lein was now inside his spacious room. The room was furnished with a large bed, a bookshelf filled with books, a study desk, a white chandelier, and wall decorations such as paintings and sculptures that added an artistic touch.

"It's time to calculate the harvest from the Qian Race's territory," Lein murmured with an enthusiastic tone.

Lein walked towards the large wardrobe on the right side of the door. The wardrobe was about three meters wide and five meters tall. He raised his fingers, touching a few books on the fifth shelf from the bottom. Each time his index finger touched the edge of a book, a bright light appeared briefly. Occasionally, Lein moved his fingers as if playing the piano, skipping over some books.

Drrrzz...

A creaking sound was heard, followed by a loud rumble. A long white corridor appeared in front of Lein. The walls of the corridor emitted a bright white light, making the end of the corridor clearly visible, complete with shelves filled with chests in the distance.

Lein stepped into the bright corridor. Within seconds, he reached the end of the corridor and entered a large room with three floors. The length of this secret room was about 100 meters, with thousands or even tens of thousands of gold chests neatly arranged on each shelf. Each shelf could hold 200 gold chests.

"Without realizing it, it's become this much," Lein muttered calmly as he looked at the rows of gold chests.

Lein actually regretted building this gold chest room, feeling that it was useless. However, since he was used to it, he always took the time to open a few gold chests in this room.

Lein walked towards the center of the room, where a sofa and a large table were already set up. After sitting on the sofa, he took out a purple chest from his storage ring.

[Duplicating (Epic Chest) 10,000 times, are you sure?]

"Yes."

As if it were a routine, 10,000 purple chests appeared in Lein's gold storage room.

"I'm curious about the contents of this shiny purple chest," Lein said to himself.

[Opening (Epic Chest), are you sure?]

"Yes."

Immediately, the purple light radiating from the chest looked very bright and beautiful, while small stars flew around it.

[Successfully opened (Epic Chest), you obtained:]

- Mid-Level Energy Crystals x12

- Savior Leaves x5

- Divine Iron x8

- Dragon Arm Bow Level 40 x1

- Lightning Slash (Skill Book)

...

"Wow... a skill book? Level 40 item?" Lein said in amazement. He didn't expect the first chest to immediately provide a skill book.

"What's this?" Lein said, picking up a green stone from the chest.

(Divine Stone) A stone made from the sediment of star creature bones over hundreds of millions of years. Very strong and durable.

Lein nodded in satisfaction after reading the description of the green stone. He then examined the blue skill book he had just obtained.

(Lightning Slash) Perform a quick slashing motion forward.

- Level: 1 (0/10,000)

- Base Damage: 1,200

- Rarity: Rare

- Cooldown: 3 minutes

- Requirement: Level 20, Swordsman

"Hahaha... Rare level, pretty good," Lein said casually.

Even though obtaining a skill book was difficult, Lein was used to acquiring high-level skill books. So, a Rare level book didn't really excite him.

Lein then turned to the green bow inside the epic chest. The bow had a transparent string that looked very strong. Curious, Lein opened its description panel.

(Dragon Arm Bow)

- Level: 40

- Attributes: STR +480, SPD +236

- (Dragon's Breath): Emit a dragon's aura around the user, increasing focus by 20% and accuracy by 30% for 10 seconds. Increases bullet speed at long distances. Cooldown 5 minutes.

Lein only glanced at the status panel, then continued to open another chest. He was quite surprised by the contents of the epic chest, as most of it contained rare items, far more valuable than regular gold chests.

"Next," Lein said, taking out another epic chest from his bag.

[Opening (Epic Chest), are you sure?]

"Yes."

The same purple light radiated from the epic chest, with small stars flying around it.

[Successfully opened (Epic Chest), you obtained:]

- Mid-Level Energy Crystals x6

- Huayin Leaves x5

- Blueprint for Automatic Bow Tower x1

...

Without looking further, Lein immediately proceeded to open another chest.

[Opening (Epic Chest), are you sure?]

"Yes."

[Successfully opened (Epic Chest), you obtained:]

- Mid-Level Energy Crystals x23

- Sea Lion Fangs x5

- Oman Shield x1

...

While Lein was busy opening chests in his secret room, the nightlife in the City of Life continued to bustle as usual.

The city's development under Lein's control was astounding. The city's streets were filled with public vehicles coming and going, creating an atmosphere similar to life on Earth.

In a corner of the city, a group of school students was walking home. The group consisted of three boys and two girls.

"Hey, did you hear that the Indonesian Alliance is having an internal war?" asked one of the girls in the group.

"Yeah, I heard it on the news too. I didn't expect President Wiko Suryo to do something like that," replied one of the boys.

"Luckily we're in the World Market Trade Alliance. We've been safe all this time thanks to the power of the island's owner."

Although their levels were still low and didn't have a big impact, these young people still felt comfortable living on Lein's island.

Other islands had been attacked several times by large monsters, and some had even gone to war with each other. However, since the formation of the World Market Trade Alliance, there had never been a war in Lein's City.

The inhabitants of the alliance island highly respected the island's owner, Lein. Although they rarely saw him appear in public, information about him could easily be found on the internet.

...

Javan Hawk Guild, City of Life

Inside the Javan Hawk Guild bar, the atmosphere was lively. Many rulers in various outfits sat relaxing, enjoying their drinks. A bartender in a black and white uniform was busy serving drinks to the hunters who kept coming in.

"Miss Jian, you're here again," the male bartender greeted with a bright smile as he shook a glass in his hand.

"Two beers, please, Mr. Mul," the woman replied.

The woman named Miss Jian was a short-haired woman with slightly revealing clothing. From her appearance, one might think she was easy to bother. However, those who met her for the first time quickly changed their minds after seeing her status panel.

[Status]

- Name: Jian (Level 14)

- Race: Blue Planet Human

- Power Core: System

- Rank: Tier-1

Soon after, the bartender served the two beers Miss Jian had ordered.

"Thank you, Mr. Mul."

Miss Jian immediately lifted her beer glass and drank it down.

"Ahh..." She sighed in relief after gulping down the beer. Then she took the other glass and drank it all down again.

"You seem to be in a bad mood, Miss Jian. What's the matter?" Mr. Mul asked curiously.

Miss Jian didn't answer right away but instead pulled out a cigarette from the small bag beside her. After lighting it, she exhaled the smoke slowly.

"My brother got hurt while on a mission outside the island," Miss Jian replied briefly.

Mr. Mul just nodded, understanding the situation, and didn't ask further.

...

Behind the comfort of life on Lein's Island, the inhabitants still had to work hard to survive and thrive. As Miss Jian experienced, even though her level was already quite high as a Level 14 ruler, dangers still lurked everywhere, even if they didn't directly affect her.
