Chapter 676 - 678: 672: Ancient Form
David Jones glanced at the neatly arranged Time Stones on the table.
He knew in his heart that any talk of limited shares was just an excuse.
The Goldsmiths could send twenty Time Stones just to make an apology, and, simply put, it was because he was unwilling to cooperate with the Goldsmiths that they chose to suppress the supply of Time resources at the source, using it to knock him down a peg.
“Fifty Time Stones plus one Cosmos Stone should be enough!” After a moment of hesitation, David Jones chose not to bring up the matter of cooperation again.
Once all the matters to be discussed were sorted, a group of beauties came with trays of exquisite food, and David Jones, remembering Wayne Goldsmith’s earlier boorish words, spontaneously ordered two top-rated companions to join the drink.
…
After the banquet ended, watching David Jones’s vanishing figure, Wayne Goldsmith turned around and entered the second best room marked “Heaven”.
“It’s a pity, in the end, we couldn’t reach a cooperation.”
“It doesn’t matter; to catch more fish, first, you must bait the spot.”
Max Goldsmith confidently said, “Fifty Time Stones are just the bait, far from enough for David Jones to figure out the evolutionary path for Time pets. As long as we can control the circulation of the Cosmos Stones, David Jones will sooner or later come to the Goldsmiths.”
Wayne Goldsmith nodded slightly.
The research institutes supported by the Goldsmiths have consumed at least eight hundred Time Stones up to now, if not a thousand. For David Jones to hope to unlock the evolution of Time pets with just fifty Time Stones is as futile as trying to fish the moon from the bottom of the sea.
“By the way, the mystification of the God Quenching Bodhi is too important. In the next few days, I need to leave Rosewood City and report back to the patriarch in Peony,” sighed Max Goldsmith.
Invoking the pretense of making amends, the Goldsmiths went through a lot of trouble just to let Rosewood College agree to their contact with David Jones, and now, they were hit with bad news in the end.
With divine opportuity at stake, Max Goldsmith could already imagine the patriarch’s angry expression!
But there was no choice, suffering was necessary; after all, he was responsible for the Star Moon Auction Event!
Elsewhere, David Jones happily brought the Time Stones back to his school villa, having accumulated some top-tier Dragon Crystals during this period. Coupled with a large number of Time Stones, perhaps he could elevate Loona’s Species Level to that of an Epic Overlord, or even evolve her into a True Dragon associated with Time.
Once back in the Mesona Space, David Jones immediately summoned Loona.
Looking at the substantial quantity of Time Stones that piled up into a small hill, then at the singly scattered top-tier Dragon Crystals, David Jones suddenly had an idea.
“Who says a top-tier Dragon Crystal can only be paired with one Level VI resource?”
With this thought, David Jones eagerly took a small bowl of blood, intending to conduct an experiment with three Time Stones first, accepting the possibility of failure.
First, he soaked the three Time Stones in fresh blood, then added one top-tier Dragon Crystal.
“Hum!”
Instantly, a crimson trace spread out from the surface of the Time Stones like a dragon.
“As I thought, it won’t work.”
Seeing that only one of the Time Stones in the bowl was showing signs of dragon transformation, David Jones shook his head and added two more top-tier Dragon Crystals.
Watching the Time Stone in front of him glow with bloody traces, all the pets turned their gaze towards Loona.
“Meh?”
Loona looked slightly bewildered, sensing the enticing scent ahead. She wanted to indulge, but felt that taking more after the last time seemed somewhat excessive.
“Don’t hesitate, these were prepared for you!” David Jones said, and with that, he glanced at the eager Gluttonous Beast, his eyes sending a warning.
Unlike Loona, whose strength had recently soared to the apex of Class V after devouring the Dragon-Breath Herb, the Gluttonous Beast had just reached the lower-level of Class IV by consuming the Mechanical Dragon King, still one step shy of middle-level Class IV.
In order to significantly reduce the Gluttonous Beast’s future cultivation time and maximize the effect of the Dragon-Breath Herb, David Jones had not yet allowed it to consume the herb.
Thus, although the Gluttonous Beast was of the highest Species Level, it became the weakest pet in the team. However, in terms of actual combat power, even Loona, with her strength at the apex of Class V, was still no match for it.
But gluttony was in the Gluttonous Beast’s nature and now, with three Dragonized Time Stones available, it was willing to try them even if the success rate was zero.
“Strengthening a top-grade Dragon Crystal isn’t easy, you should finish consuming the Mechanical Dragon King before considering other Time Stones,” David Jones advised as he rubbed the Gluttonous Beast’s head.
“Roar.”
The Gluttonous Beast obediently bowed its head.
“Loona, you can start now!” David Jones turned to say.
“Baa!”
Without further hesitation, Loona stepped forward and swallowed the Time Stone along with the bowl in one gulp.
Boom!
The next second, Loona’s body erupted with intense fluorescent light from the intertwining patterns of purple and black, while layers of mysterious black rings manipulated the fleeting time, turning all the energies from the Time Stone into nutrients for growth.
Simultaneously, Loona’s size grew rapidly, and her terrifying aura reached the limit of the apex of Class V, then broke through the shackles, successfully rushing into the King Realm.
“Roar?” (I’ve been surpassed again?)
The Gluttonous Beast widened its eyes, watching Loona undergo a huge transformation.
Before their eyes, the one-meter-tall young Giant Dragon suddenly morphed into an immense Demon Dragon. Its dark pink and purple neck and wings burst forth with dazzling sparks, the color gradient flowing constantly and ultimately forming a stunning bright purple. It was both dreamily colorful and overpoweringly dominant.
Loona’s dragon horns split and protruded on its head, its scales gleamed deeply, and its elongated and perfectly proportioned body soared in the Space. Wherever Loona’s rainbow-colored dragon eyes gazed, terrifying whirlpools of time emerged.
“Eee?”
“Meow?”
“Roar?”
“Chirp!”
The pets looked at Loona, now terrifying in appearance and aura, with expressions of utter shock.
Rainbow was particularly affected. Being of the same lower-level Class VI, it felt an intense threat emanating from Loona.
“Rumble!”
At that moment, the Kingmaker Thunder Tribulation crashed down. However, against the endless river of time, it was laughably insignificant, like an ant throwing itself into the sea, quelled by a single swipe of Loona’s claw without even a splash.
Watching the brooding thunderclouds, the mighty thunder piercing through the space, and finally the demonically charming Demon Dragon who seemed to trivialize the heavens and earth, David Jones’s eyelids twitched. He suddenly felt that the Dragon Pet he’d painstakingly nurtured seemed to have grown somewhat crooked, exuding an aura reminiscent of a Demon God about the bring about Annihilation!
Fortunately, Loona was merely a simple variant. Despite the breakthrough, her form shared many similarities with the Star Moon Dragon, and she still bore the pure aura of the Dragon race, with no connection to Mysterious Beasts.
“Swoosh!”
The illusory river of time lasted but a brief moment before disappearing. Having successfully transcended the tribulation, Loona instinctively canceled out her demonically charming ancient form, reverted to her original size, and rushed towards David Jones.
