Chapter 45: Meet Again
It had been scaled down until he could hold it with his palm.
Until now he had not felt satisfied to look at it. After all, this was an SSS Grade Artifact, which was basically the highest level of all artifacts. He couldn’t believe he was able to obtain an artifact at this level so early.
Even he had already obtained Class and SS Class Artifacts.
How would people react if this became known?
"Mm..."
His eyes stared back, which made his brows furrow.
’Someone is already coming,’ he thought.
He could sense the presence of some people outside the forest.
Without thinking, she jumped away.
He didn’t want to get involved with any more commotion for now.
With all the business done, he would naturally leave.
This was a hunt without knowing the identity of the person being sought.
Aldric was not sure how those people would react later.
He exited the forest through the back path, then headed away, heading towards the city secretly where he actually met many people heading towards the forest.
Those from White Wind City clearly had the most to gain as they were the closest.
Surprisingly enough for him, he even saw the Demon Horse and Dead Fish without their masks, moving after the people as if they were just insignificant players.
Without the robes they wore, it was obvious how skinny they were.
In the real world, they would probably give the impression of walking corpses.
’Their luck is indeed good. They actually managed to escape the city lord.’
Aldric laughed softly when he thought about that.
However, just because they escaped the city lord, they wouldn’t be able to escape him.
He quietly followed them from behind, gradually approaching them.
When he was finally right behind them, his hand grabbed each of their shoulders.
"Come with me," he said in a low voice.
They initially looked like they wanted to be angry that someone was suddenly grabbing their shoulders.
However, hearing that voice, they trembled so they stopped their steps spontaneously.
"B-boss," they said simultaneously while looking back.
Aldric was currently wearing a cloak with a hood without covering his face. It was only difficult to see because it was obscured by the hood.
However, up close, his face was still clearly visible.
Aldric didn’t say anything else.
He turned around and took a step, confident that they would follow him.
Of course, they did follow him, as if they were traumatized to contradict him.
When they followed him, they looked at each other with uncertain expressions while he glanced at them occasionally.
Aldric felt that they suspected him of being someone Ramsey was looking for.
This was a bit of a headache for him because they could have contacted Ramsey to tell him about this.
The problem was of course the World Cube he was using.
Although the information from Ramsey was not very clear where he only told people that there was a wall of light blocking it because his view of the cube was not clear, these two robbers could probably estimate that it was the World Cube.
Aldric couldn’t ask them and couldn’t focus on taking care of them yet, so he took them to the city, even treating them to a meal as if he was a good boss.
His mind was focused on his original body which was now standing in front of the corpse of the Absolute Beginning Soul Dragon.
He was still amazed until now. The same expression was shown by the prince he had brought with him.
When standing in front of the giant monster, he had already taken out a giant cup containing the ingredients to form the Genesis Core.
He had no more confusion now. This was because in the notes of the Genesis Core Method, it was explained how to take the remaining soul from the corpse of the Absolute Beginning Soul Dragon.
All he really needed was a drop of soul from that dragon-level monster. Although it had died a long time ago, the remnants of its soul still remained.
After walking closer until he could touch the dragon corpse, he touched it.
Vaguely, he could feel the energy within the corpse, an energy that seemed to be as vast as the ocean.
If he drowned in it, he would be lost, unable to go anywhere anymore.
His eyes began to close while the energy in his body tried to enter the dragon corpse.
The energy of the Peak Junior Magician had the natural ability to attract the remaining souls of any monster which was the way for them to form the Genesis Core.
When his energy merged with the energy of the dragon, he felt something special hidden inside.
They were many, like countless shards of glass.
Some were large and some were small. The big ones were too heavy for him, he could only grab the small ones with his strength.
Of course, with this level of dragon power, the smallest piece of broken soul was more than enough for him.
This was because its soul was too big.
In the end, it would expand on its own with his soul power.
He immediately withdrew it after grabbing it.
BANG!
There was an explosive sound from the area he touched.
He jumped back while in his hand appeared a transparent colored ball of light.
The prince widened his eyes when he saw that.
"The soul of the Absolute Beginning Soul Dragon!" he said in a tone of amazement.
If observed, inside the ball of light it seemed as if there was a world, a world transparent yet full of life.
After jumping, Aldric jumped again, entering the giant cup.
He stood on it and activated the Swallowed Sky Incantra Spell, absorbing everything in the cup into his body.
He even threw the ball of light into the black hole that appeared in front of his body.
He absorbed it along with all the ingredients inside the cup.
