God Ash: Remnants of the fallen.

Chapter 476: Four Way Battle (1).

Staring at the marvelous wonders created by a multitude of races across a multitude of time periods, Cain didn't know what to say. They were there, right at his fingertips.

Unfortunately...

He didn't have enough system point. He didn't even have enough to buy the smallest of them all.

{Replying to host: While the host doesn't have the funds required to purchase the vessel, it is still possible to acquire the construction plans}.

Cain rolled his eyes, 'And how much would that cost?'

{Replying to host: All of the host's current system Points}.

"..."

Cain shook his head. He suddenly felt that maybe now wasn't the time for this.

With a sigh, he looked at the map, "Perhaps its still possible to get there with an ice bridge."

Cain rolled up the map. His job here was done. Now was the time to meet up with the others and fine tune his plan.

Stepping out of the {Draconic Blast Furnace}, he stared at the hallway he was currently in. He had attached the forge to a room within the building. This used to be an office building that had been the working place of hundreds of non teaching staff.

Now, it was a ruin. A memento of the past. Funny enoy6, he didn't feel nostalgic at all. It was as though gazing back in time, was staring at another reality entire, one he wasn't used to at all. In this new reality, he was in his element. Those societal rules had been broken down, but with their destruction came true freedom.

That was liberating, but also very dangerous...

Cain walked slowly, taking in the dreary atmosphere. The world was now in ruins. He didn't even know to what extent. Just thsi corner of the world was pretty damaged. He couldn't comprehend the rest.

Still, that was none of his business for now.

What he needed to focus on was managing what was important right now.

"Eva..."

From the shadows emerged a bewitching beauty, one that could pull a man's soul from his chest if care was not taking.

Although Cain would acknowledge this truth any day, now was not the time to oogle. As they walked in tandem, they exchanged words,

"The weapons and new gear had been distributed. Steve has made the trip back from the Northern Island."

Cain nodded, "How many potions do we have now?"

"About ten thousand, give or take..."

Cain scratched his head. Although that seemed like a lot, these were just normal HP Regen potions that had been created using the alchemical materials found on the Northern Island.

The Northern Island had turned into a treasure trove with the absence of the Devils. Steve had gone to retrieve as much as he could so they could create the much needed HP potions.

"Let's distrbute them to the normal guys. They'll need it more that we will." Cain said after a while.

For them, these small HP potions were nolonger necessary. If they truly encountered life threatening injuries, the efficacy of the HP Regen Potions would not be up for the job.

They would be needing something stronger from now on...

Evangeline smiled teasingly "That's already been done, leader. You don't need to stress your pretty head over all these details. You'll get burnt out."

Cain snorted, "Sure. I would if I could, but I'm a bit anxious. Worrying about these things helps take my mind off what is coming."

Evangeline suddenly moved to step in front of him. Gazing up at him, her ruby eyes twinkled like stars,

"You should relax. Our success relys solely on you. You should realize it by now. We are all becoming very dependent on you. This means you should also be dependent on us. On me..."

Her words wormed their way into his chest, creating a nauseating feeling. He didn't know what to make of it. She stepped closer, causing his heart beats to quicken,

"Plus, is there truly anything to be anxious about? If you can't handle all this, imagine how terribly you'll die in the future?" Evangeline said, her words bearing something ominous.

Cain frowned, "And what's that supposed to mean?" He said as he drew back a bit. However, she followed closely, almost attaching herself to him like a snake. Her hot breath reached his face, causing blood to rush to a certain body part...

She was being oddly flirtatious today. He wasn't sure what to think...

"You'll understand one day. For now, let's focus on the matters at hand." Evangeline chuckled, then brushed the topic off faster than a butler trying to hide evidence.

Cain couldn't help but give her a long look. He couldn't see through her at all. Her personality fluctuated like a tuning fork. He had no way to guess what she was thinking, and what her plans were.

He didn't know what she though of him, if she wanted to assist his or betray him along the line.

However, he didn't care too much. For one, he wasn't scared. If she was to try anything, he was certain he could bear the consequences and deliver the appropriate justice.

Therefore, he wasn't worried. Merely intrigued.

Cain coughled, trying to dispell the subtle tension,

"Sure. We'll move on with the plan. Let's have everyone gather. We'll set out in..." Cain said as he looked at the internal clock the system provided.

Just as they were walking out of the building, Cain felt a certain gaze piercin6towards him. Looking forward, he frowned subconsciously.

Standing before him, and surrounding by many others was Blaze, Manny, and Vincent.

Blaze took a step forward, "Cain..."

Cain shook his head, "Its fine. I already know what you want to say."

Blaze, having the wind taken out of his sails, couldn6helo but stumble a bit,

"You do?"

Cain rolled his eyes, "I'm not delusional. I understand very well the action I'm abou6to have us all take might be deemed as unnecessary to some people. I'm not surprised by this at all. What I am surprised by is seeing you being a part of this whole thing..."

Blaze didn't seem offended by Cain's words,

"Don't be surprised. Its going to be too dangerous. What we are about to face is not the same riffraff as always." Blaze's eyes narrowed.

"These Tier 1 beasts are not as simple as we thought. They can goad the weaker beasts to attack us. Plus, there's the two groups of mania8 as well. Going over there just seems like a recipe for disaster. I don't want to go there if I have too."

The people surrounding his seemed to share the same sentiments...

Cain looked around, 'They are fewer than I expected...'

He also noticed that the others were observing from different locations, but made no moves to step up, perhaps waiting to see how he would handle things.

Indeed, as the self appointed leader, he had to solve this issue by himself. It wasn't going to magically disappear after all.

Cain turned to look at Manny, "What about you, Manny? What is your reason for engaging in this face?"

Manny shrugged, "I don't care about all that to be honest."

His expression suddenly turned manic, even a bit sinsiter,

"What I am very interested in doing... Is fighting you, Cain!"

Cain nodded. That seemed very... Manny-like. No complicated thoughts whatsoever. Only intense battlelust.

He was happy with that.

Then his gaze turned to the most complicated of the three...

Another person he couldn't quite yet see through. For all he could tell, Vincent was trying to use himself, as well as the others solely for the purpose of reaching the Main City safely.

His intentions didn't seem immediately sinister. However, he was still very cautious of the fatty, not beca6of the potential danger he might pose, but because of how well he hid his seemingly I'll intentions. Even now, Cain wasn't sure of it himself. And he still didn't know if these intentions were ill ones.

Cain smiled, "Vince, Buddy... You too?"

Vincent chortled, "I'm so sorry, boss. This was an incredibly difficult choice to make," He said as he carefully inserted a high caliber bullet into the chamber of his rifle.

"Although I admire you, boss, reaching my goals alive is still my number one priority. Nothing is more important than that. We've been through all sorts of dangerous bullshit, but this is too much. I'm sure you understand the gravity of what is to come."

Cain sighed. Evangeline had a cynic6smile on her lips. However, she said nothing. Instead, she turned her gaze towards Cain, as though to ask him what he would do?

Cain waved dismissively, "Its okay. I'll handle this."

Blaze snorted as he stepped forward, "Since we want to make this as safe as possible, no magic, no spells, and no skills. Just skill. Let's test how far you have come, Cain."

'Attempting to cripple me right off the bat, ey?' Cain though, amused. After thinking about it for a while, he nodded.

"Fine. If that's what you want, then come. Let's get this over with. I'll try going easy on you. All three of you, cone at once."

The three all stared at one another for a moment before they charged forward...
