God Ash: Remnants of the fallen.

Chapter 427: Waring Seas.

Rollo, Idris, and Francis were standing before a seat in an enclosed room that had half its ceiling missing. There was a higher desk crafted from Timber and a spinning chair at one edge of the room. Seated on the chair was Guy with a semi-interested expression on his face.

Resting on the only sofa in the room, was a sinister looking war axe...

"They blew him up. How? Where the hell did they find bombs? And how was it detonated remotely? Boss, this could be a huge problem." Francis said to Guy, ignoring Idris.

Rollo frowned, "Those female Mutants aren't the culprits, that's for sure. That means another group must have taken over."

Idris turned to him, "Are you saying..."

Rollo nodded. His eyes were stuck on Guy who didn't seem to be paying much attention,

"Those guys from before... Hunter, Dan, and the other guy... They might have reached the Central Island. If they decided to take control, then I don't think its impossible at all."

Idris rolled his eyes, "Rollo, are you saying they are that strong?"

Rollo sighed, "I don't know. They might be even stronger now. We can't know for sure unless we clash again. But..."

"The final decision lies in the hands of the Boss."

"Boss, what do you think? Should we go ahead and attack?" Idris asked.

Francis spoke impatiently, "It goes without saying. The bastards in the West are too difficult to deal with now since they are hiding like turtles. I suggest we attack these guys sooner rather than later."

Although Rollo and Idris didn't speak, they didn't seem to argue with Francis. This meant they were either fully on board with his suggestion, or they had no problems with it.

Guy was still silent for a few minutes. However, the others waited patiently. Eventually, his half-closed eyes snapped open.

"What's the approximate distance between here and there?"

Francis answered, "Around ten to twenty kilometers, Boss."

Guy nodded, "How much fuel to power the speedboats do we have left?"

This time, it was Rollo that answered,

"Unfortunately, not a lot. We are down to our final hundred liters."

Guy smiled. Although he wasn't ugly, his smiling face seemed unnecessarily sinister,

"Then there's no need to assemble a large squad. We are the only ones going. You lot should select a few strong ones. Let's go pay those girls a visit. It's about time I replaced my collection after all."

The look of wicked burning lust in his now open eyes told them he was finally a bit interested in the Central Island.

Before, he didn't seem to show it much interest. Now, he was like a hungry wolf that sniffed out red meat.

Sweat poured down Cain's brows as he hammered and hammered. Thanks to his ability to manipulate the shape and constituents of metal, it would much easier for him to forge weapons and equipment that for others to do it.

However, impossible was a universal law that affected everyone.

'This is impossible!'

If Cain had ten times his current amount of mana, control, and strength stats, maybe he would have been able to do something about it.

Even with the help of the {Blue Mystican}, he was unable to mend the weapon.

'I'm not even trying to fix the runes. Is this how difficult it is to interact with High-tier magic?'

The runes on the surface of his weapon were rejecting the Fiend Steel he was trying to connect with the rest of the weapon using the intense heat of the forge.

A few tries later, and he was forced to stop. If he tried to push it too far, the {Blue Mystican} would kill him.

Cain stared down at the weapon in his hands. The runic patterns were simply magical. The system was unable to give him a grade because the Tier of its runes were simply too much for him. However, the weapon was special in the sense that the Tier of the weapon didn't mean it was unusable to him. Rather, it responded to the amount of power he was able to provide...

'I can't recreate the runes, and I can't fix the body. What should I do now?'

Then a sudden thought appeared on his head.

'The last time the weapon self repaired, it consumed a ton of Ki and Devil Essence. That means it has a self repairing element attached to it. Doesn't this mean that if I pour in my Ki and Devil Essence whilst simultaneously trying to repair it..."

A switch seemed to flip in his head. He had been going about it all wrong from the beginning.

He quickly got to work. He held the blade in his left and and began pouring his overbearing Ki and Devil Essence into the blade.

Very quickly, the runes on the blade began to shine with darkness and crimson light. At the same time, the blade became heavier and heavier. It's rugged edge also became sharper, Turing it into a fantastic cleaver.

A neon green light shine in Cain's right hand as he activated the {Blue Mystican}. A dramatic flood of power came pouring out of him right hand and into the magic circle powering the dragon heads.

An insane amount of highly concentrated flames were belched out of the dragon heads with a high pitched scream.

The heat was concentrated on the blade of the weapon and the huge mound of Fiend Steel, turning it red hot in the blink of an eye.

The neon green light disappeared from Cain's hand was replaced with an outstanding ray of golden hue. A huge golden hammer materialized in his hand.

Once the weapon and the mound of Fiend Steel were superheated, he transferred them to the anvil.

The heat from the metal distorted the air in front of him. His hairs were singed, but he was unfazed.

Picking the metal hammer, he struck down with his arms powered by thousands of strength points.

BOOM!

He didn't stop. Striking metal against metal, he didn't stop for one second. Something strange began to happen straight away.

This time, the Fiend Steel wasn't being rejected by the blade. Instead, it melted towards the blade like icebergs

melting into the ocean.

With ever stroke of his hammer, the metal attached itself to the weapon. The most mystical part though, was what came after.

The runes on the surface of the weapon slowly began to spread like a flower's blossom in spring. The devilish runes were like the petals of a beautiful flower as they reached onto the surface of the Fiend Steel.

Cain was surprised. However, he didn't stop. The huge mound of Fiend Steel he brought slowly began to dwindle. However, the blade wasn't even five percent restored.

Cain didn't waver a single bit as another mound of Fiend Steel placed at a corner of the forge levitated over to the dragon heads. They spat out four streams of blue fire, turning the metal red.

Once it was hot enough, it moved over to the anvil to get hammered in. This process occurred many more times for a few more hours.

Cain's gritted his teeth. Right now, all his energy sources were about to be depleted. Although the {Blue Mystican} amplifier helped a lot, even it had limits.

Just as he thought the last ebbs of energy in him was about to be completed consumed...

The sweet sound of success echoed in his ears...

Attack Speed: 4.0

Durability: 2,000/2,000.

Skills: Heart of Despair, Wicked Blade, Annihilation.

{Heart of Despair}(active): Despair is the heaviest of burdens, and the despair of a dying celestial even more so. Pouring Ki and devil essence multiplies the weight of the blade.

{Wicked Blade}(passive): Sharper than a razor, a blade wielded by wickedness cuts through even the most holy of beings. The more devil essence and Ki circulates through the blade, the sharper the blade becomes.

{Annihilation}(active): The edge of the blade destroys, cutting all away from the source. By consuming Devil Essence and Ki, the edge of this blade can cut through skills and spells.

Cain felt his soul tremble. He looked at the blade rested in his hands. It had become more beautiful, more sinister...

The previously bulky blade had it's girth reduced by at least two, making it hard more slender. However, its length, as well as the curve of its crescent edge had also increased greatly. Cain could feel an indiscriminate amount of power flowing through it.

'I knee that Flame Devil was powerful, but it certainly shouldn't be holding onto a weapon as good as this.'

The only conclusion Cain could come up with, was that the Devil probably plundered it from a world it had previously visited and plundered.

The entire blade was now covered was the runes and sigils. The edges and the tip were now restored. The blade absorbed a terrifying about of Fiend Steel to heal what appeared to be insignificant damage.

Only a single mound of Fiend Steel was left now. Cain looked through all the notifications the system delivered. He was pleasantly surprised. He had been hard at work for the past month, and that reflected beautifully in his stats. They had all shot up a considerable amount. From hunting Aether Beasts in the Fragmented lands, to killing Abyssal Creatures in the void, to hunting Mutant Beasts on Urbus.

The amount of stats he had acquired were absolutely staggering.

But that wasn't what made him the most excited...

Not only had he just received a new skill, he had also acquired a new ability as well.

'Fiend Counter?'

***

{Fiend Counter}: The Host is now able to monitor the amount of Devil Essence he has.

[1/100].

***

Cain frowned, 'That little?'

{Replying to host: The Host's Devil source is extremely meager, so he can only possess this amount of Devil Essence. However, quality is what the host possesses the most}.

Cain stroked his chin, 'Then how am I supposed to increase it?'

{Replying to host: By killing Devils}.

Cain's eyes shone, "Ho?"

{The host can increase the amount of Devil Essence he had summon by killing Devils and absorbing a portion of their Devil Essence Source}.

Cain was suspicious. Something about this felt a bit wrong to him. However, the system had never mislead him before.

'If that's the case, then I'll take it, I guess...'
