Cain could feel the power flow into his body like a gushing river. He let out a grunt as his stats were increased by over a hundred points across the board.

\'So much power!\' Cain clenched his fist. He could feel the power within his body raging like an inferno. His mind felt as clear as a starlit sky. He stretched out his limbs, causing them to crackle and pop like a bolt of lightning was running through him.

With a wave of his hand, his {Devil\'s Broken Claw appeared in the air,.and was quickly brought to the ground by gravity. However, this time, he was ready. With incomparable speed, he plucked it from the air midfall.

Although the sword was still a bit too heavy, he was able to properly grasp it in his hands.

"Grrrrr!" A subtle growl rumbled from his throat as he swung his sword upwards. The force behind the attack was great, but with his high control, not only was he able to properly control the weight, he did so with little effort.

SLICE!

Nary a sound was heard as the blade cleaved through the air. The dark blade phased out of reality and appeared once again almost instantaneously. With a slight flick of his wrist, the blade was back into its sheath and had disappeared into his inventory.

On the domed roof of the gymnasium, a very long but narrow clean cut stretched across its length. If one didn\'t look closely, the cut wouldn\'t even be noticeable.

\'Stronger, faster, and more control...\' Cain\'s eyes shone with excitement as he flexed his muscles and examined his body.

Suddenly, the voice of the system broke him away from his moment of euphoria...

{Congratulations, host... You have acquired such a huge achievement. However, it will do you good to remember that with great power, comes great responsibility...}

{System Quest}: You have received a mandatory quest from the system. This quest will consist of numerous stages.

Stage 1: Kill 10,000 devils and Save 100 humans.

Rewards: +100 to all stats.

Stage 2: ???

Stage 3: ???

Stage 4: ???

Stage 5: ???

Quest Reward: You will acquire the title, {Pioneer}. Details of the title will be released upon completion of the quest.

Note: Failure to complete this quest in 30 days will result in the death of the host.

\'Death?! What on Urbus is a System quest?!\' Cain asked in bewilderment.

{Replying to host: It is a special request issued by the system that cannot be refused. Failure to complete it will usually result in heavy consequences...}

\'So if I fail to complete the quest within 30 days, I\'ll die?\' Cain said as he ruffled his hair in distress.

{Replying to host: Affirmative...}

\'Guess I\'ll just have to do it then... But saving 100 people is going to be a hassle.\' Cain concluded after contemplating a bit. He guessed the system quest and what had just occurred had some ties to each other.

\'On the other hand, looks like I\'ve struck gold!\' Cain couldn\'t believe all the gains he had just made.

\'100,000 system points, as well as a title and a skill. I can now even buy the grade 1 mana shards!\'

Cain once again opened the system store and headed straight to the mana shards section. Just as he was about to click on the buy button for the grade 1 mana shard, he was stopped by the system.

{It will do the host well to know that there is a limit to the grade of mana shard the host can absorb}.

\'What do you mean?\' Cain raised a brow in confusion.

{Replying to host: A grade 1 mana shard belongs to an incredibly strong Legendary creature and contains elemental mana of great density and volume. If the host attempts to even touch one, it will lead to instant death.

With the strength the host currently possesses, Grades 1 to 5 mana shards will cause instant death to the host if consumed}.

Cain paused for a while before he let out an internal roar of rage, \'Why didn\'t you tell me this sooner?!\'

{Replying to host: That is because the host never asked}.

The reply of the system caused a bit of suspicion to well up within his heart, \'Well I didn\'t ask now, did I?!\'

{Replying to host: For certain reasons, the system has attached a bit of importance to you, so the life of the host is now of a bit more importance. Hence, the host will no longer be charged for being provided with basic-level information...}

\'Hmmm...\'

The feeling of suspicion only grew stronger, but Cain decided to ignore it and just keep it at the back of his mind.

\'I see... So that means I can only use grade 6 and below mana shards, huh?\'

\'Okay then. If that\'s the case, I\'ll go for the highest grade I can get.\'

Each grade 6 mana shard had a price of 4,750 system points. And the power it held was comparable to the power of a Deadly grade mutant beast such as the {Devil-eyed White Primate}.

As soon as Cain clicked on the grade 6 option, a different tab opened up. This tab was just a list of various elements ranging from elements like fire and water to others like light, darkness, and spatial attribute mana shards.

{The system strongly advises the host to focus on his strengths more to maximize his gains}.

\'I see... That will be a wise course of action to take.\' Cain nodded his head in affirmation.

Cain possessed 100% or perfect affinity in 7 different elements. Namely, fire, lightning, spatial, wind, metal, blood, and poison. He had a 90% affinity in darkness and a 70% in water.

As for the earth, nature, and light, he had a staggering 0% affinity for them, which meant he couldn\'t use them at all.

\'My {Elemental Body} skill enables me to create elemental spells once I\'ve gathered enough energy from mana shards. Looking at it like this, I already have a solid foundation with the metal and blood elements. So I\'ll go for the ones I don\'t have first.\'

Even though he had a lot of system points, Cain decided he would use them sparingly.

\'I already have a few mana shards at hand let me use those first.\'

He pulled out all the mana shards he had in his inventory and began absorbing the mana stored within. A few minutes later, he had completely used up all the mana shards he had on him. A system prompt came up as soon as he was done.

ELEMENTAL BODY PROGRESS

Spatial: 25%

Darkness: 7%

Wind: 34%

Fire: 28%

Lightning: 35%

Poison: 75%

Cain did a few mental calculations and realized that he would need seventeen grade 6 mana shards to raise all his elements to 100% or more. That mean he was going to spend 80,750 system points at once.

Although it stung a bit, he decided to go ahead with his plan.

He opened up the system store and made his purchase.

{3 spatial, 4 darkness, 3 fire, 3 wind, 3 lightning, and 1 poison mana shards. Does the host wish to go ahead with this purchase?}

\'Yes!\'

{Request processing...}

{Purchase Confirmed...}

Cain opened his inventory and was greeted with the sight of the lustrous gems sitting there in all their splendor.

He quickly retrieved them. The grade 6 mana shards were heavier and had more luster than the lower-grade ones.

Without even wasting a breath, Cain began absorbing the mana stored within them. It took him longer to absorb the grade 6 mana shards, but after a while, he was finally done.

As soon as the last mana shard shattered within his hands, he received a system prompt.

Cain turned speechless for a few seconds...

\'That easy?
