Chapter 56: Others Can’t, But I Can
Everyone turned their gazes to the door and the man dressed in a suit shocked Teacher Li to the extent that she stood up.
“President… President Duan?”
All the teachers in the room gasped when they looked at the young man. Their gazes were filled with awe.
Who in Sea City would not know of the Duan Family’s fourth young master? He was the real wielder of power in the entire city!
Duan Feihan walked in and looked at the stunned Li Juan. He repeated himself. “Student Bai had an appointment with me last evening. I’d have to ask of you not to punish her.”
Even though he was a young master from a powerful family, his words did not appear domineering, instead, they sounded gentlemanly. However, his tone also carried invisible traces of coercion.
Li Juan’s mind turned blank and her ears started to buzz.
When Li Juan got to know that Bai Chuwei was personally squeezed in through underhanded means by the Bai Family’s head, she had not placed much importance on it.
However, this was the Duan Family! The Duan Family’s fourth young master had personally made a trip on her behalf.
How could Li Juan dare to show her previous arrogance? Her expression was immediately replaced with a flattering smile. “How can I possibly punish Student Bai? I was just joking.”
“Are you done? If yes, I’ll be going back then.” Bai Chuwei glanced at Duan Feihan with interest before walking out of the office.
Tong Qingyan looked at Duan Feihan who turned around quickly and caught up to Bai Chuwei. It was as if he did not see her standing in front of him.
She had been acquainted with Duan Feihan for much longer than Bai Chuwei, but… Unease surged up like a torrent and nearly drowned Tong Qingyan.

Bai Chuwei looked at the man by her side and asked him curiously. “Hanhan, why did you come to my school?”
When Duan Feihan heard her nickname for him, his forehead involuntarily twitched.
He lowered his gaze and straightened the cufflinks on his sleeves before saying calmly, “On the way to the office, I passed by your school. So I came to deliver this to you.”
Duan Feihan took out a hardcover copy of ‘Memory of the Mountain Moonlight’ from his black briefcase and passed it to Bai Chuwei. “This is the completed version.”
Bai Chuwei reached out to take the book and expressed her thanks. Just from the cover of the book, she knew that it was much better than the book Duan Xingye gave her.
The thought that he specially came to help her out coupled with his nightmare yesterday, softened her usual stony heart and she smiled at him. “Hanhan, you don’t have to worry about it. I didn’t come here to study…”
He suddenly cut her off and couldn’t help but ask. “You came here for guys?”
Bai Chuwei stared blankly for a moment before she nodded with a smile. “You can say that.”
It was because of Xu Xingchen, Tong Qingyan, and to go through the original plot.
Bai Chuwei saw Duan Feihan’s eyes gradually darkening, as if a thunderstorm was about to happen.
Duan Feihan’s magnetic voice suddenly talked in a righteous tone. “You’re still a high school student and your main priority should be to study. You should not be distracted because of relationships…”
Bai Chuwei raised her brows and lazily interrupted him. “Then why did you try and take me to a hotel room yesterday?”
She obviously knew that it was because of his impure thoughts that caused him to misunderstand the meaning behind the hug which she had asked for.
Duan Feihan: …
Bai Chuwei saw the man maintaining his usual expression, but the tip of his ears had turned red. A teasing smile curled on her lips.
It was a bad hobby of hers to tease others.
Duan Feihan caught her sly smile. She was similar to a little cat, sparring with him using her wit and courage. He calmly responded in an increasingly low and magnetic voice. “Others can’t, but I can.”
Bai Chuwei was momentarily shocked and she felt that she had been teased, instead.
The man recovered his usual expression and walked her towards Class 9. “You are very smart. I hope that you can be serious about your future and prepare well for your college examinations.”
Duan Feihan walked her to the classroom’s entrance and glanced at Duan Xingye who was reciting English sentences with sincerity. He looked at her and said, “Duan Xingye disliked studying in the past. But he’s working hard preparing for the college entrance examinations now.”
Bai Chuwei’s crisp sounding voice suddenly asked him in return. “But what if he dies?”
