The Young Matriarch

Chapter 16: Walking Tang Monk’s Flesh Is Coming?

Bai Chuwei’s expression seemed rather complicated.

However, as a person who had lived for more than five thousand years, she recovered her usual calmness very soon.

Duan Xingye paid no heed to Bai Chuwei’s Eighth-Grader Syndrome and even said politely, “Doctor Bai, can you save my grandfather? Money is not a problem.”

Bai Chuwei maintained her calm and composed look. “The wealth of ten families like Duan Family added together is less than half of my combined wealth.”

The wealth she had accumulated over the past thousands of years was truly incomparable to the normal people.

Everyone: … As expected, she has Eighth-Grader Syndrome.

What kind of family was the Duan Family? A rich and powerful family with hundreds of years of background!

The most influential families in China were the eight aristocratic families, and it was said that they were once servants of a certain powerful figure. They had been supported right up to the top of the food chain, but Duan Family was an oddity among them.

They had relied on their capability to expand to their current standing. Moreover, under the magnificent management of Duan Family’s fourth son, there were subtle signs of them pushing the eight aristocratic families under their feet!

However, Bai Chuwei was looking down on that Duan Family? Did she have a screw loose?

The surrounding students levelled their gazes of ridicule on her. Wasn’t a good looking girl without brains simply a vase?

Even though Duan Xingye was speechless, he still implored. “Doctor Bai, as long as you can save my family, the Duan Family can agree to anything!”

A tall and slender figure suddenly surfaced in her mind and she subconsciously smirked. “Can I ask for a person?”

A person?

Before Duan Xingye had a chance to respond, a rather irritating and sharp female voice spoke up in an enigmatic tone, “The school is not a marketplace. For those female students who come to school looking for romance, please do not lead the other students astray.”

Bai Chuwei looked up at their Chinese teacher, a woman with light makeup, who seemed to be in her thirties and said, “You’re also sick.”

Li Juan’s complexion instantly turned green. “Y-you dare to insult a teacher?”

The students around her were shocked. Bai Chuwei was indeed a courageous person. She even dared to offend Teacher Li, who was well-known for being really strict with students?

Bai Chuwei responded in a calm tone. “It’s a fact.”

She then gently rubbed the space in between her brows as she wondered about the lifestyle of people for the past two decades. It seemed that each and every one of them was more or less ill.

Li Juan immediately wanted to chase her out, but she recalled that this student had been personally sent in by the Bai Family. If she drove her out, wouldn’t it be equivalent to giving the old man a slap?

She looked at Bai Chuwei’s tender and smooth face before gritting her teeth. Then, she said in a furious voice, “We won’t be discussing lessons today. Prepare for a test!”

The whole class howled and there were some who looked at Bai Chuwei, resentfully.

A language test was different from other subjects as they had to write a large chunk of words, and their hands would ache.

This new classmate of theirs was a disaster!

Bai Chuwei was rather interested in the modern examination. However, her brows were tightly knitted after she went through the papers.

Why did it test her on the poems which she wrote, and in addition, she had to analyze the meaning behind each word?

From her memory, she had not thought so deeply back then when she wrote those poems, but these groups of descendants had come up with so much logic on her behalf?

The news of Bai Chuwei’s appearance in school and the morning debacle of Bai Yinyin’s clothes getting torn along with the reveal of her sexy undergarments, had been spreading rampantly across the school forums.

Bai Chuwei glanced at the used phone in her bag and thought that she should purchase a new one instead.

“Doctor Bai, can you please take a look at my grandfather?”

Bai Chuwei left the school compound without turning back. “I’m busy, I’ll check him another day.”

Duan Xingye nearly cried out. She could wait, but his grandfather couldn’t. He then ran up to her and said, “Please don’t leave, my Fourth Uncle is making his way here.”

Bai Chuwei’s footsteps paused and suddenly turned around as her eyes faintly glowed. “You mean, that walking piece of Tang Monk’s flesh1 is coming?”
