Chapter 679: Green London Pine Tree-1

They would be getting especial endorsements which would roughly amount to several months pay for their troubles. Most of the single people would opt regularly for these roles and would later take vacations which was why overtime around these season would be the most hype thing in the company.

With so much enthusiasm, the company had to adopt a lottery system because there weren't that much slots available. It was the same for the people of the Estate. There was a specific body of members selected which would discreetly survey for things that each household lacked.

A huge pool of money was delegated each year for the gift giving which would be delivered to their home. It's not like the family didn't want to personally present these gifts but with all the benefits that came with the job as well as pristine living condition, most people flat out rejected it because they thought they were taking advantage of the situation.

When they were hired, they basically secured their and their family's future as long as they didn't betray the Rothschild family. It was not uncommon for their offspring to be given education benefits as long as they were competent enough.

The family didn't give handouts, everything was done with a merit based system. Most of these people would return and work for many subsidiaries within the behemoth Rothschild conglomerate. It was a good way to secure able and passionate recruits. There were many that were second or even third generation employee within the family.

Even the retire individual were given pensions that were closely tied to the many investment firm within the company. It was not uncommon for them to live a prosperous life in their golden years. Old John that recently retired is one of these examples.

Christmas had became a festival to give back to subordinates as well as celebrating the continuous success of the Rothschild empire.

To honor such a tradition it was monumental to make it extravagant and colourful. Every year, people were tasked to go deep into the woods to procure a splendid Green London Pine Tree that would become the centre of celebration.

" I almost forget about it." Samuel commented walking the familiar path.

" It has became a ritual at this point. I still remember the first time we went out to hunt for it." Arthur added. It's been almost a decade since Samuel first went out to gather his first tree. Generally the youngest member of the family would be tasked to collect the tree, even Peter used to do it but since he was already an adult before Samuel arrived, the task was handed down to Arthur.

The tradition again flourished after Samuel's addition and with Grayson, it was safe to say that it would continue in the future.

" I feel like we shouldn't have stopped children from following us. It could be a great experience for them to run around freely away from watchful eyes of their parents." Samuel chuckled. He understood that they were always cautious not to offend anyone but what else could they do?

Children should worry about these things, if it were a formal setting he wouldn't mind since there was a decorem to uphold but sometimes their parents were too strict.

He also remembered, Elise and Grayson's disappointed expression when Arthur asked them not to follow. They were only curious as long as they were careful, they could have watched where these Christmas trees came from.

" What would they even do so far in these woods? Beside, with a lot of wild animals here, it's not exactly a safe place."

" You are right. Also there was a chance for others to follow, there might not be enough of us to contain them."

They put it aside and began looking around. They did arrive at central part of the forest as more and more tall trees came into view. The path also narrowed a lot because there were many people coming at this part of the forest. There were ten other people beside Arthur and Samuel who kept clearing path for them at the front.

" These are..." Samuel squatted down to see small black dropping littering the ground.

" Deer droppings?" Arthur immediately recognized it. The issue was there were no deer in these parts of the forest because they were outside the sanctuary.

" Right, this is getting more and more annoying. There seem to be another route out for them." Samuel sighed. What's the count, three? Four? His uncle really rushed through the process as it was becoming more and more clear that they couldn't contain the animals inside.

This forest was home to many animals some of them even classified as endangered. There had been many attempt from the government to snatch these lands away from the control of Rothschild family.

They lost every time but if someone found out they had been tampering with these animals by introducing new species like white tail deer or wolf while still planning for more in the future, the court would definitely sway in government's favour.

" I think we should hire actual expert and not rely on my Uncle's expertise to mess things up."

" I will report our finding. For now, we should not disturb them and finish what we came here to do."

" Alright." Samuel wasn't worried yet. Six wolves wouldn't be enough to make a dent here but they had to think of a better way to manage things. There was also a chance of someone actually sneaking in through the holes in security. It would be a much more disastrous outcome!
