Chapter 5279 White-Robed Long Chen’s Victory
Chapter 5279 White-Robed Long Chen’s Victory
Both the white-robed Long Chen and the Silver Hair Void Crusher were blown back by the impact. The Silver Hair Void Crusher’s body was riddled with cracks, and his sword was once again knocked from his grip. He was on his last legs.
“How can this be?!” the Silver Hair Void Crusher roared in disbelief. Although he was injured, the support of the divine throne should have granted him enough power to crush any eight-vein Human Emperor or below.
Yet, the white-robed Long Chen, with a realm no different from Long Chen’s, had matched the Silver Hair Void Crusher in strength. Even though the white-robed Long Chen’s aura was strange, he was just a Saint. Logically, even if he possessed this body, due to its limitations, he couldn’t possibly unleash that much power.
Just as the Silver Hair Void Crusher roared furiously, Evilmoon tore through space, cutting through the violent qi waves with impossible speed. The saber transcended the limits of spacetime itself, leaving the Silver Hair Void Crusher with no chance to evade. By the time he sensed Evilmoon, it was already upon him.
Just as Evilmoon was about to pierce his chest, a mirror materialized in front of it. The tip of Evilmoon’s blade struck the mirror, triggering a heaven-shaking explosion.
This was the Star Peering Heavenly Mirror, a priceless treasure capable of overlooking heaven and earth and transporting its wielder through space.
It was not a weapon for combat, so when Evilmoon struck it, it instantly cracked under the force. Despite the mirror’s protection, the Silver Hair Void Crusher spat out blood as his damaged body bled from multiple cracks.
“You bastard, just you wait! Next time, I’ll make you regret coming to this world!” roared the Silver Hair Void Crusher. He started to shrink, and the divine throne behind him expanded, enveloping him in divine light.
“You think you can get away?” the white-robed Long Chen sneered, raising Evilmoon once more as a terrifying Saber Qi surged around him. However, before the strike could fall, he noticed black spots spreading across his white robes.
In that instant, the divine throne tore through space and vanished along with the Silver Hair Void Crusher.
The white-robed Long Chen stood straight with his saber raised. Looking down at the black spots creeping across his robes, he muttered, “It seems it’s not yet time to control this body. I’m too early.”
With a derisive sneer, he added, “How useless. To be bullied by trash like that... Just wait. When the day comes, I’ll control this body and rule the entire world.”
As the black spots multiplied, the white robes turned completely black. Long Chen’s white hair darkened as the aura of Purgatory receded. After that, he fell from the sky, and the Earth Cauldron rose to catch him, pulling him inside.
“Evilmoon, bring us away,” said the Earth Cauldron.
“Why don’t you do it?” retorted Evilmoon.
“My power’s been drained by you two. But you absorbed some of that fellow’s energy just now. Don’t think I didn’t notice.”
“What nonsense. I disdain acting that way,” Evilmoon grumbled, but still pressed itself against the cauldron and carried them away.
Under the Earth Cauldron’s guidance, Evilmoo brought them to a secluded area several hours away. At this moment, Long Chen slowly woke up, startled to find that his injuries had completely healed. His eye no longer throbbed, and although his body felt drained, he was otherwise in perfect condition.
“What...?” Long Chen stared at his hands in confusion. Checking within himself, he found nothing out of place. “What just happened?”
Neither the Earth Cauldron nor Evilmoon responded.
“Was it him?” Long Chen wondered aloud, immediately thinking of his heart-devil—the white-robed Long Chen.
“He appeared. He defeated the Silver Hair Void Crusher. His power... it was immense,” Evilmoon confirmed.
He defeated the Silver Hair Void Crusher? Long Chen was stunned. He had fought his heart-devil and sensed that the latter’s power might exceed his own, which had pushed him to cultivate even harder. In any case, Long Chen hadn’t given up any chance to get stronger.
However, the Silver Hair Void Crusher he couldn’t beat had been bested by his heart-devil.
Suddenly, a scene appeared in Long Chen’s mind. It was the white-robed Long Chen holding Evilmoon and fighting the Silver Hair Void Crusher.
“I recorded their battle. I wasn’t planning on showing you, but...” said the Earth Cauldron, hesitating. The white-robed Long Chen’s overwhelming power had even made the Earth Cauldron concerned about how Long Chen might react.
Watching the battle unfold, Long Chen couldn’t help but feel a cold dread. His heart-devil’s strength was beyond his understanding. The white-robed Long Chen’s Eight Star Battle Armor was particularly shocking. Why was it so much more powerful?
Long Chen could sense the Purgatory power pouring out of the eight stars. This energy was so suffocating that even the divine throne’s power was restrained by it.
When Long Chen had faced the Silver Hair Void Crusher, the divine throne had felt like an insurmountable mountain, but the white-robed Long Chen had been able to fight it.
“No, his Eight Star Battle Armor is the same as mine. The difference is in the energy source. If his armor could withstand the divine throne’s power, then mine can as well!” remarked Long Chen, clenching his fists with newfound resolve.
The Earth Cauldron consoled, “Long Chen, don’t feel too bad. That Silver Hair Void Crusher is truly powerful and was backed by a divine throne. It’s normal for you to be unable to beat him.”
“That’s right, he’s definitely abusing his cultivation base! If you were a Heaven Saint, we would beat him!” Evilmoon chimed in.
Long Chen smiled faintly, shaking his head. “You don’t need to console me. A loss is a loss. I don’t need excuses. Fortunately, I had you both with me. You supported me even when I was being so stubborn.”
Long Chen knew that had he lost, the Earth Cauldron and Evilmoon would have fallen into the Silver Hair Void Crusher’s hands—a fate Long Chen couldn’t bear to imagine. Yet, despite knowing the risks, they had stood by him until they were completely drained of power, and for that, he was deeply grateful.
“Let’s not talk about that for now. You should focus on recovering,” said the Earth Cauldron.
Long Chen nodded. Consuming a pill, he started to recuperate.
