Chapter 232 - 232 More Pitiful Than Them
Seeing Luo Ziling feeling a bit embarrassed, Yang Qingyin whispered, “She wouldn’t come anyway.”
“Alright,” Luo Ziling did not ask any further.
Because it was a tourist town, the area where they were staying was quite bustling, with a plethora of snack and famous food shops.
Roast lamb was naturally a special flavor here, and Luo Ziling, holding onto Yang Qingyin’s hand, came to a restaurant that was quite popular with patrons for dinner. They ordered a few pounds of Little Lamb, along with some grassland specialty snacks and two vegetable dishes, which made up dinner for the two of them.
“Can we two really eat all of this?” Yang Qingyin was a bit surprised at the amount Luo Ziling had ordered, “Are you trying to stuff me to death?”
“What’s there to fear, with this big-stomached junior here, you don’t have to worry about anything,” Luo Ziling said proudly, thumping his chest, “Don’t think that everyone has a small appetite like you do in the world. If you find it delicious, then eat more. If anything, after dinner, we can take a walk on the grasslands to digest, so you won’t gain weight.”
“Always bragging,” Yang Qingyin rolled her eyes at Luo Ziling, “You’re the bottomless pit, okay? I just hope you don’t end up like a big, fat pig.”
“Ending up as a big, fat pig is good too; I could be sent to the slaughterhouse and fetch a good price.”
Yang Qingyin chuckled when Luo Ziling spoke so seriously.
Far from Yan University, and since it was dinner time, neither Yang Qingyin nor Luo Ziling wore glasses or hats, showing their true appearances.
The handsome young man and beautiful woman attracted a lot of attention, and diners from the same restaurant would occasionally glance at them, and some people sneakily took out their phones, trying to take photos. Luo Ziling quickly noticed and subtly changed seats to block the angle towards Yang Qingyin. Luo Ziling’s inconspicuous action instantly filled Yang Qingyin with warmth.
What warmed her heart even more was that, after the roast lamb was served, Luo Ziling considerately tore it into several small portions before placing it on her plate.
This way, she didn’t have to bother tearing the meat herself and avoided getting her hands greasy.
While happily picking up the roast lamb with her chopsticks, Yang Qingyin complimented Luo Ziling, “You’re quite like a warm man, so considerate.”
“I heard saying someone’s a warm man is the most hurtful thing, it’s what they say online,” Luo Ziling said, a look of dejection on his face as he looked at Yang Qingyin, “You’re not deliberately trying to put me down, are you?”
“I didn’t mean that, do you want me to say you’re not considerate?” Yang Qingyin replied, giving Luo Ziling a sideways glance, her eyes full of tenderness and charm.
Luo Ziling immediately laughed happily.
The dinner was very sumptuous, but Yang Qingyin was full rather quickly, as she had always had a small appetite.
Although Luo Ziling had a good appetite, he wasn’t very interested in the roast lamb, as he had eaten too much.
“Let’s pack it and take it back, the lamb tastes good,” seeing there was still at least more than a pound of lamb left, Luo Ziling suggested, “Take some back for Xiaoli to eat, so she won’t blame us.”
Yang Qingyin was surprised that Luo Ziling actually thought of bringing back a late-night snack for Xiaoli, but immediately smiled, “Alright, let’s pack it and take it back later.”
This young man was indeed considerate and not one of those students without emotional intelligence.
Yang Qingyin had thought that someone like Luo Ziling, who grew up in a small mountain village and hadn’t seen much of the world, would definitely not be very emotionally intelligent, and often wouldn’t consider other people’s feelings. Now, she realized she was wrong.
After dinner, Luo Ziling, carrying a food container in one hand and holding Yang Qingyin’s hand with the other, strolled down the streets of the small town.
“Shall we go to the grasslands to watch the stars?” Yang Qingyin suddenly suggested after walking for a while. “The neon lights in the city are too bright, and you can’t see the stars. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen them. You just said you wanted me to accompany you to stargaze.”
“Of course we should go,” Luo Ziling agreed cheerfully and immediately started walking with Yang Qingyin towards the outskirts of the town.
“Didn’t you say you understand astronomy and geography? Then you must know the stars in the sky,” Yang Qingyin held on to Luo Ziling’s hand tightly and asked with curiosity, “How about it, will you tell me about the constellations later?”
“No problem,” Luo Ziling still readily agreed.
The town was small, and it took them only about fifteen minutes to walk out of the town area.
Outside the town was the grassland; although it had been bustling during the day, it was now quiet, save for some people like them who enjoyed a bit of romance and were still wandering around on the grassland. They picked a direction where there were fewer people and slowly walked hand in hand.
After a while, Luo Ziling stopped, handed the food container he was carrying to Yang Qingyin, and said, “Senior Sister, hold this for me.”
“What’s up?” Yang Qingyin, lost in the romance of walking hand in hand with Luo Ziling on the grassland, was caught off guard but still subconsciously took the food container he handed her.
After Yang Qingyin took the food container, Luo Ziling swiftly took off his jacket and directed her, “Autumn nights are dewy; put on the jacket.”
When they had set out, Luo Ziling had deliberately worn a new jacket, and Yang Qingyin, who herself was wearing a sweater and a coat, had teased him about being just as cold as she was. Seeing Luo Ziling take off his jacket and instruct her to put it on, Yang Qingyin instantly understood that Luo Ziling, who was not afraid of the cold, had worn the jacket for her sake, fearing she might catch a chill.
Feeling touched, she began to playfully protest, “How can I put it on when I’m holding things?”
As she spoke, she lifted the bag with the food container in it.
“You always know how to play the fool,” Luo Ziling grinned affectionately, gently tweaked Yang Qingyin’s nose, and despite her playful complaints, helped her into the jacket and zipped it up.
“Are you warm now?” Luo Ziling smiled as he tidied up Yang Qingyin’s disheveled hair.
“Not cold at all, how could I be when wearing a warm brand jacket?” Yang Qingyin beamed with a smile, looped her arm through Luo Ziling’s, and said, “Let’s find a spot to sit down and watch the stars, alright?”
“Hmm,” Luo Ziling replied, leading Yang Qingyin to a rock to sit down.
The stone, still warm from the sun’s heat during the day, was quite comfortable.
“What star is that?” Once seated, Yang Qingyin pointed at a bright star on the horizon and asked Luo Ziling, “Do you know it?”
“That’s Vega, and that one over there is Altair, also known as the Cowherd Star in the legend,” he explained.
“The Cowherd and the Weaving Maid are so pitiful, they can only meet once a year,” Yang Qingyin leaned on Luo Ziling and said softly.
“Some are even more pitiable than they are, not having met in twenty years,” Luo Ziling blurted out impulsively.
