Chapter 885 - Auntie Youning, Goodbye (1)
Chapter 885 Auntie Youning, Goodbye (1)
They said that their grandparents were very kind and would give them gifts and send them to school. On weekends, their grandparents would also take them to the amusement park. Also, at family gatherings, their grandparents would kiss them.
He could only blink his eyes to express his envy.
He didn’t even have grandparents. He only saw through the window some old men walking on the sidewalk on his way back from school.
He could not imagine how he would feel if there was a silver-haired old lady who treated him extremely well.
It was Granny Zhou who helped him feel it. Although Granny Zhou was black-haired, her hair was just the same color as his. He liked it!
In the small world of Mumu, Aunt Zhou, who was kind and amiable, and Xu Youning both could make him feel warm. So, he never wanted to leave them.
Over the past few days, he had become used to seeing Granny Zhou immediately after he woke up.
However, when he woke up this morning, Granny Zhou disappeared because she had been taken away by his daddy.
He missed Aunt Zhou. But more than anything else, he was worried about Aunt Zhou.
Xu Youning held the little boy in her arms and comforted him gently. “Mumu, don’t cry. You’ll see Granny Zhou soon.”
However, it might be the last time for Mumu to see Aunt Zhou.
Only then did Xu Youning realize that Mumu was meaning that he missed Aunt Zhou not only now, but also in the future.
Mumu did not show that he would miss Aunt Zhou for a long time. He nodded obediently and put on an expectant look.
He really did not want to part with Xu Youning, and he believed that Xu Youning also did not want to part with him.
Therefore, he could not show any look of sadness, because it would let Auntie Youning be as sad as him.
Xu Youning lifted Mumu’s quilt and asked, “Do you want to get up now?”
Mumu did not want to, because he had to leave after getting up.
However, Granny Zhou and the babies’ grandmother might therefore get hurt, so he could not stay in bed.
With that in mind, Mumu nodded and followed Xu Youning into the bathroom to wash up.
After washing up, Xu Youning came out with Mumu and opened the wardrobe.
The wardrobe was used by Aunt Zhou and Mumu, but most of the clothes inside belonged to Mumu.
Most of Mumu’s clothes were bought by Aunt Zhou when she went to buy ingredients.
It could be noticed that Aunt Zhou had put a lot of effort into choosing these clothes which were superior in the materials and the workmanship.
Aunt Zhou was even not so attentive to her own clothes. She... really doted on Mumu.
Suddenly, Xu Youning’s eyes slightly ached. In order not to let herself cry, she called Mumu. “Which one do you want to wear?”
“Anyone is okay!” Mumu said, “All the clothes here were bought by Granny Zhou!”
Xu Youning took a small shirt, a pure khaki sweater, plus a warm coat. As for the bottoms, she chose a pair of thermal long underpants, a pair of light-colored jeans, and a pair of snow boots.
After dressing Mumu up, Xu Youning tightened Mumu’s clothes while asking, “Are you still feeling cold?”
Mumu shook his head and said with great vigor, “Not at all!”
“Good.” Xu Youning smiled, put a scarf around Mumu’s neck, and reached out to him. “Let’s go downstairs.”
Mumu took Xu Youning’s hand and grinned. “Okay, let’s go.”
After getting downstairs, the bodyguard told Xu Youning, “Mrs. Lu and Brother Guang are waiting for you in the club’s restaurant.”
“I see.”
Xu Youning held Mumu’s hand and walked out of the villa. She stepped forward slowly, like a person who had been pushed off the cliff and tried to grab a glimmer of hope of survival.
But in the end, she grabbed nothing. No matter how slow she stepped forward, the door of the villa was not far away from the gate.
After taking a few steps away from the door, Mumu suddenly turned around and stared at the small villa behind him for a long time.
Xu Youning did not urge the little boy. She just held his hand and let him look at the villa.
Not long after that, Mumu looked back at Xu Youning and said calmly, “Auntie Youning, let’s go to have breakfast.”
Xu Youning took Mumu’s hand and walked to the club, asking, “Mumu, will you remember the time you spent here?”
Mumu nodded, and as if he were afraid that Xu Youning wouldn’t believe him, he said word by word with sincerity in his pure eyes, “I will always remember it.”
During his stay here, he spent the longest time with Auntie Youning, also Granny Zhou, and many other gentlemen and ladies, of course, as well as those two babies!
If possible, he hoped to live with them all the time.
Because he was not lonely every day here.
However, he wanted Granny Zhou to come back, so he had to go home.
Thinking of this, Mumu lowered his eyes in disappointment. When he walked into the club, he came across Su Yicheng and Luo Xiaoxi.
Luo Xiaoxi had learned from the bodyguards that Mumu was going back. She came over and touched the little boy’s head. “Will you remember us after going home?”
“Yes!” Because he was not good enough at Mandarin, Mumu said in English, “When I’m with you, I’m very, very happy, so I’ll never, never forget you.”
“We won’t forget you either.” It was rare for Luo Xiaoxi to show a gentle look. She took Mumu’s hand and said, “Let’s go to have breakfast.”
Su Jian’an and Ah Guang were already in the restaurant. Mumu greeted them politely. “Auntie Jian’an, Sir, good morning.”
Ah Guang knew little about Mumu. He only regarded him as Kang Ruicheng’s son, so he didn’t have a good impression of him. When he saw Mumu be so polite, he felt something strange.
Su Jian’an was used to Mumu being polite, and she said, “I ordered your favorite shrimp dumplings and cream custard buns. What else do you want to eat?”
Mumu tilted his head and said obediently, “You’ve ordered what I would like to eat.”
Su Jian’an smiled and called the waiter. “You can serve the dishes now.”
It was unclear whether Xu Youning and Su Jian’an intentionally had breakfast slowly or not. On the contrary, Mumu ate at a normal speed.
After eating, Mumu wiped his mouth and said, “I’m full.”
“...” Xu Youning and Su Jian’an just stared at Mumu and did not say anything.
Seeing this, Ah Guang stood up and said, “Now that you’re full, I’ll send you home.”
Mumu slid off the chair and ran to Su Jian’an. “Auntie Jian’an.”
Perhaps because he was too young, Mumu’s voice was even softer than those of ordinary little boys. It sounded sweet as if it were going to permeate into people’s hearts.
It suddenly occurred to Su Jian’an that there would never be a boy calling her “Auntie Jian’an” in such a voice in the future.
Su Jian’an was a little sad, but she had to keep her normal look. She looked at Mumu and asked, “What’s the matter?”
“Can I see the babies again?” Mumu’s round black eyes sparkled with anticipation, and no one would reject him when seeing the pair of pure eyes.
Su Jian’an took Mumu’s hand and said, “I’ll take you there.”
After waking up in the morning, Xiyu drank up a bottle of milk and fell asleep again. On the contrary, Xiangyi was energetic, and she kept babbling on the bed vigorously.
Su Jian’an pushed open the door for Mumu and said, “They are inside. You can go in.”
Mumu walked to Xiangyi and stared at the little girl for a moment. Then he reached out and rubbed her chubby little face. “I’m going home.”
Xiangyi turned to look at Mumu with her black and bright eyes. She kicked her tightly wrapped legs and replied with a “hmm.” No one knew if she was agreeing or protesting.
Mumu felt that the baby was saying goodbye to him. He smiled and waved at Xiangyi. “Goodbye.”
Xiangyi did not make any more sounds. She just stared at Mumu and occasionally blinked her eyes.
Mumu turned around and went out. Su Jian’an and Xu Youning were both next to him, but he went straight to Ah Guang and looked up at him. “Sir, let’s go.”
For no reason, Ah Guang felt that the atmosphere was suddenly filled with depression and sadness. He was not used to this kind of feeling.
Shouldn’t they happily send this kid back in exchange for Aunt Zhou?
“Let’s go.”
Ah Guang felt something strange, so he first went downstairs, followed by Mumu.
“Mumu!” Xu Youning called Mumu, walked over, and took his hand. “I’ll take you to the parking lot.”
Mumu nodded. “OK.”
When they went out, it suddenly began to snow.
White snowflakes fluttered down, and there was a sudden drop of a few degrees in the temperature.
Xu Youning held Mumu’s hand and walked without stopping or looking back.
Su Jian’an grabbed Luo Xiaoxi and said, “Let Youning send Mumu.”
Looking at the backs of Xu Youning and Mumu in front of her, Luo Xiaoxi nodded and stopped.
The snow was getting heavier and heavier. It would take a long time for the ice-crystal snowflakes to melt after falling into her hands.
Su Jian’an said, “It’s too cold outside. Let’s go in.”
Luo Xiaoxi felt the same way and went back to the villa with Su Jian’an.
At this time, Aunt Liu ran downstairs and looked very anxious. “Mrs. Lu, Xiangyi is crying. I can’t calm her down.”
“She was fine just now, wasn’t she? Why did she suddenly cry?”
With that, Su Jian’an ran up to the second floor and heard Xiangyi crying from afar.
She walked into the children’s room, picked up her daughter, and coaxed her patiently.
But this time, it did not work at all. Xiangyi cried hysterically as if she had been bullied by someone.
Su Jian’an was afraid that Xiangyi would wake up Xiyu, so she had to carry Xiangyi downstairs.
Luo Xiaoxi walked over and asked, “What’s wrong with Xiangyi?”
“I don’t know.” Su Jian’an gently wiped away the tears on the little girl’s face with her hand. “She suddenly cried badly.”
“Tut-tut, let me try.”
Luo Xiaoxi tried to coax her, but it still did not work.
Su Jian’an had no choice but to go upstairs and make some milk. Then, she took the milk down and fed it to Xiangyi.
Usually, whenever Xiangyi touched the pacifier, she would open her mouth and drink milk.
But today, when Su Jian’an sent the pacifier to her lips, the little girl turned her head to avoid it and did not stop crying.
Su Jian’an took the little girl back from Luo Xiaoxi’s arms, adjusted to a comfortable posture for Xiangyi, and then waited for her to stop after she was tired of crying.
Xiangyi was a child after all. She soon stopped crying and only sobbed in a low voice. After a while, she fell asleep in Su Jian’an’s arms.
No one knew why she suddenly cried.
