Chapter 19: Under normal circumstances
Chapter 19: Under normal circumstances
"Sorry for my tardiness," Rebecca said. "There are too many things here, and most of them are trash."
Terry sighed... she had to expose herself... his whole plan was for her to snipe the enemies from a safe distance since Terry didn\'t want to stop fighting and protect her if something happened...
Rebecca quickly fired several fireballs that hit the enemies that were approaching. The explosions damaged their faces quite a bit, to the point that Terry could see their muscles, but then several of them began to run toward Rebecca.
Terry jumped around using the corpses as platforms, but then he frowned when some of the giants approaching Rebecca began to fall... she had more firepower than expected... She didn\'t hesitate in using the charges of the wands either.
"Hahahaha! Don\'t treat me like I am some weakling!" Rebecca laughed. "I will become the goddess of the new world... Just kidding. Don\'t retreat too much, Terry. We can\'t let them surround us. I will cover you."
There were a lot of things that Terry wanted to say, but he turned around and looked at the enemies approaching. The best defense was a roundhouse kick on the enemy\'s throat, and he was going to test that theory.
Rebecca quickly disposed of the enemies that tried to surround her, and then she slowed down the ones around Terry with Ice Arrows. Terry used that chance to approach and destroy their brains... in a matter of minutes, half of the giants had been wiped out. It was a pity that Terry didn\'t get experience with his weapons during that battle, but that was just a minor problem.
All of a sudden, one of the giants began to tremble, and their skin began to turn head. The other giants looked at the creature and stopped moving, so Terry had an easy time finding it.
"Is it turning into the leader of the tribe?" Terry thought while frowning. "The process with the goblins is a lot slower..."
The list of things that Terry had to research was quickly increasing... In any case, Terry charged at the beast, but the other giants formed a wall around that one. They sure were being annoyed.
"Terry!" Rebecca shouted.
"Focus on decreasing their numbers, and we will make them regret playing defense," Terry said and then charged.
As if the condition of victory were the arrival of the leader of the tribe, the remaining giants focused on defense. They didn\'t move a single arm to attack. That annoyed Terry so much... that he began to bite his lips in annoyance.
Terry used Deadly Jump left and right, which couldn\'t kill them instantly like that, but Terry was fine, knowing that they would suffer a lot. The atmosphere began to change for some reason as the giants fell one by one... At first, Terry didn\'t mind that, but then he noticed that the leader was yet to make its move, and they only began to transform when half of their allies had been killed... Terry didn\'t have a good feeling about that, but he kept fighting.
Eventually, there was a sea of corpses around, and only a red giant was left. The creature finally stopped trembling as soon as the last of its ally had fallen. Terry was one hundred percent sure that their leader could only appear when a certain number of them fell...
The creature had gotten three meters taller, and a lot of steam was leaving its red flesh. The muscles looked like they were going to explode, and the eyes of the creature had turned white. It sure looked ominous...
"This is..." Rebecca approached and then said it.
"Keep a few meters of distance. I am pretty sure that I can\'t stop the attacks of this thing under normal circumstances..." Terry said.
Even if he used his spear, Terry felt that he wouldn\'t win easily. It was finally his first real battle against an opponent that was much, much stronger than him.
As soon as Rebecca moved away, the beast charged, and it was faster than a high-speed vehicle with all that mass. Terry used his spear to block the kick of the beast, only to be sent flying twenty meters away after spinning several times in the air. His arms began to hurt like hell... blocking truly wasn\'t a good idea, but he wasn\'t fast enough to run away... Terry realized all that before he landed on the ground.
