Chapter 470 - New Beginning (2)
Ba-thump ba-thump.
Young Tang Moyu\'s cuteness level was over a hundred! The devil waved his white flag, even before he was aware of the stealth attack from the empress.
The devil covered half of his face, trying to hide his fl.u.s.tered expression from his wife. Although Tang Moyu looked very much like their daughter in appearance, Feng Tianyi wasn\'t prepared to be attacked by the sudden cuteness of the mini empress in front of him.
Even in her chibi form, Tang Moyu was so cute that made Feng Tianyi regret not being able to meet her when she was younger. He really wanted to see the mini version of his wife in real life!
Darn it! Feng Tianhua had somehow snatched his chance to meet the young Tang Moyu! Just thinking about it was enough to piss the devil off. Another reason why he should get even with his little brother later.
Tang Moyu was oblivious to what her husband was thinking at the moment as her attention zeroed in on the collections of medals and certificates hanging at a corner of the room. So this was where all her medals went when she was younger?
She initially thought that Auntie Lu was the one who took them for safekeeping and had no idea that it had been her father who made a small altar of her recognition and awards like a proud father.
Not only her medals and trophies, there were even several photos of her during her sport competitions, as well as her musical recitals with Li Meili. There were also pictures of her during her graduation ceremony, accepting the highest medal for her class. Even clippings from newspapers and magazines that featured her were neatly cut and placed in a frame in an orderly fashion.
She had never thought that Tang Lixue had been watching over her those years and had been proud of all her achievements.
Tang Moyu didn\'t know what to feel at the moment. She had never had a good relationship with her estranged father, who had always been absent throughout her childhood. For him to be watching her from afar, she wondered why he didn\'t make an effort to spend time with her.
Was her resemblance to her birth mother so striking, that the mere sight of her was enough to push him to the edge? It would make sense to Tang Moyu if that was why her father had chosen to keep a distance from her. After all, her birth mother and twin brother didn\'t seem like they had?died because of a simple break-in.
What has her father been doing over the years anyway, aside from trying to keep the family business afloat? Tang Lixue was the eldest son of the family. Aside from him, Elder Tang also had two sons younger than Moyu\'s father.
Her uncles weren\'t as good and proficient, when it came to business, as her father. That was why everything had been pushed towards Tang Lixue when the business started to face issues, one after another.
"So he\'s been keeping an eye on you over the years, huh? Is this why this place was off limits to everyone?" Feng Tianyi commented, his eyes following Tang Moyu\'s gaze.
He had to give it to Tang Lixue. He had arranged every medal and trophy his daughter had won neatly, keeping them in their pristine condition. He knew that no one would ever make such an effort, unless one was a parent who was extremely proud of one\'s daughter.
Feng Tianyi would have done the same for their little buns. Filling his gallery and phone memory with their pictures and videos were just the start. Seeing his father-in-law\'s mini display now, the devil had no doubt that Tang Lixue did love his daughter, even if he wasn\'t able to reach out to the empress.
"Are you happy?" He asked Tang Moyu, gauging her reaction, but her impassive mask remained in place, not giving him any hint of what she was thinking upon discovering her father\'s work.
"I don\'t know…" Tang Moyu responded.
How was she supposed to react to it? Her fingers in one hand were more than enough to count the memorable times she had with her father. Tang Lixue had never given her any indication that he loved her, or even cared for her, except that one outburst where he blatantly threatened Zhang Wuying if something befell his daughter.
But that was a long time ago. Tang Moyu hadn\'t given it too much thought. It wasn\'t enough for her to place her trust in her own father. Since he\'d been away most of the time, it was pointless for her to expect something from him. In fact, she was more than surprised to know that he had left a large inheritance in her name and refused to leave even a single dime to his own wife.
Tang Moyu could already imagine how much Zhang Wuying\'s hatred for her had dramatically increased after she chased her out of this estate. Since her father didn\'t leave anything for her, Zhang Wuying would have no other choice but to return to her maiden family. She also knew that this was the time for her to be extra careful. She didn\'t believe that the old woman wouldn\'t do something to get even with her.
