Floating Island - Triple S Talent

Chapter 229: Building a Tier-S Soul

Lein agreed without much thought. The chest-opening animation began, with a white light enveloping the chest and a slight tremor. Finally, the chest opened, revealing its contents.

Not only the real Lein but his clones did the same. They moved like robots tasked with opening chests. By using clones for this task, Lein avoided the risk of assigning humans. All the clones shared the same space and could communicate through a special connection between them.

Meanwhile, other clones continued to explore the Soul Gate portals, hoping to find the remaining S-tier soul fragments. In the area near Lein, no more Soul Gate portals could be seen—everything had already been cleared by his clones.

Time passed, and after 30 minutes, the cooldown for (Infinity Duplicate - SSS) had finished, allowing the ability to be used again to duplicate (Voidtail Monkey - S).

"Alright... Let's duplicate!" Lein said, standing up.

[Duplicate (Voidtail Monkey - S) 10,000 times, are you sure?]

"Yes," he answered without hesitation.

As soon as he confirmed, Lein saw his count of (Voidtail Monkey - S) increase to 10,001, ready to be used to form an S-tier soul.

"Haha... finally, an S-tier soul!" Lein laughed with satisfaction, eager to form his S-tier soul. With burning enthusiasm, he walked toward the (Soul Construction Orb) nearby.

After a few steps, Lein arrived in front of the (Soul Construction Orb). The transparent orb at the top emitted a dense magical energy that was almost overwhelming, just gazing at it left Lein slightly amazed.

Without delay, Lein opened the panel of the (Soul Construction Orb) and checked the last result he had obtained when first attempting to build a soul.

(Soul Construction Orb)

Please insert soul fragments to receive an evaluation from the orb. The higher the tier of the fragments, the higher the resulting soul's evaluation.

Current Evaluation:

- Soul: Thorned Lava Worm - C

- Soul Energy: 700

- Strength: B

- Defense: C

- Intelligence: D

- Agility: C

- (Molten Ambush): The Lava Worm burrows underground and waits to ambush passing enemies. When an enemy comes near, the worm leaps out, striking with destructive firepower, dealing 250% of normal attack damage and burning the enemy, inflicting an additional 50% damage per second for 5 seconds. Cooldown: 45 seconds.

On his first attempt, he received the (Thorned Lava Worm - C). Afterward, he tried building another soul, but failure messages appeared repeatedly, much to his frustration. Because of that, Lein decided to stop and search for S-tier soul fragments.

"This time, you can fail as many times as you want," Lein said with a wide grin.

He was no longer afraid of failure. With 10,001 S-tier soul fragments in hand, it was impossible not to succeed at least once in 1,000 tries—especially if he chose to build the soul with 10 energy fragments.

Naturally, Lein opted for 10 fragments without hesitation. Not only would it increase the success rate, but it would also significantly affect the final result.

Not wanting to waste more time, Lein selected the [Construct] option, triggering the appearance of 10 small connected circles surrounding a larger central one. Already familiar with the process, Lein placed the (Voidtail Monkey - S) fragments one by one into the 10 smaller circles. Each filled circle glowed white, ready to channel energy for soul construction.

Once all 10 small circles were filled, the system's confirmation panel appeared.

[Detected 10 soul fragments. Do you want to build the soul?]

"Yes," Lein answered firmly.

Immediately, the 10 circles emitted bright white light, releasing immense energy into the larger central circle. The connecting lines between the outer circles and the center lit up brightly, merging all the energy from the smaller circles into the large one.

The energy radiating from the central circle grew more intense. Lein could feel a powerful rumble echoing. The once-white light now turned a mixture of blood-red and metallic black.

"Whoa... so powerful," Lein murmured, witnessing the changes in the soul-construction orb.

The crystal ball atop the (Soul Construction Orb) filled with swirling blood-red smoke, spinning as if a massive storm was about to erupt.

Lein observed with eager anticipation, his eyes gleaming with hope and excitement. After a few moments, the chaos subsided, revealing a figure inside the crystal ball.

Inside the crystal, Lein saw a living creature—a muscular monkey with a long tail. Its head was wrapped in white and gold cloth that fluttered endlessly as if blown by the wind.

Curious, Lein immediately checked its status on the (Soul Construction Orb) panel.

Current Evaluation:

- Soul: Voidtail Primate - S

- Soul Energy: 123,000

- Strength: S

- Defense: S

- Intelligence: S

- Agility: S

- (Spectral Chain): Using its powerful tail, the Voidtail Primate creates 10 spectral chains that can bind and immobilize enemies. Trapped enemies cannot move or use abilities for 5 seconds. The attack also inflicts Energy Drain, siphoning 10% of the enemy's soul energy every second. (Cooldown: 75 seconds)

"Wow... it drains soul energy?" Lein exclaimed, his mouth agape. If he wasn't mistaken, soul energy was essential for summoning soul troops. This meant that if a summoner didn't have enough soul energy, they wouldn't be able to summon their souls.

"A 5-second stun?"

It was just like his Heaven Sword Prison ability—his first S-tier soul also had a similar power.

Lein shifted his gaze from the evaluation panel to the crystal orb atop the pillar (the soul construction orb). His eyes focused intently on the monkey inside the orb, and the monkey returned his gaze without fear, staring at Lein with seriousness, its face resembling that of a proud warrior.

Seeing the monkey's expression made Lein think that it was almost human, possessing emotions and thoughts of its own.
