Chapter 518 Plot thickens-2
It revealed various places and was marked by a dot on the screen. Almost all the major cities worldwide had been touched up, but there were also several large hubs over the years. Japan and Sweden seemed perfect candidates as they had a lot of traffic throughout the world wars.
Samuel was still silent as he looked at everything, trying to make sense of it. He was trying to find any common link, but even though they had thousands of documents, everything needed to be more relevant. There was also a chance that the enemy wanted them to have it to throw them off their trail.
" I think I understand. It's a global network that is highly central and, at the same time, has appendages that extend to do their dirty work. If you look here.." Jane started pointing out some locations, and it began to make sense.
Samuel was thinking outside the box, but he should have remembered to account for Occam's razor approach: if one has two competing ideas to explain the same phenomenon, one should prefer the simpler one.
" That's what I think those dots symbolize, six pillars supporting a central figure that watches over everything. We might be fighting one of these pillar organizations, and the worst is yet to come. I may be blabbering, but it's much simpler, right?"
" You may be right."
" That means the kidnapping of Elise was connected to our human trafficking case?" She asked.
" It might not be the case; you guys may have accidentally stumbled upon it. We could be dealing with multiple wings of the same overarching organization without even knowing. Let's leave it at that, study it further, and report to me immediately if you find anything."
" Okay, Boss."
" Also, keep everyone alert; we might get lucky with our two rats." Samuel didn't spend any more time and left her office. He had already kicked the hornets' nest, and it was natural for him to expect them to make their move; he would proceed after it happened.

While Samuel was busy identifying his enemies, they were doing the same thing, but they were already aware of everything. In the tallest building of an unidentified city, a young man was sipping on his whiskey glass when someone knocked on his door.
" I am busy. I already told you not to disturb me." He was looking outside the window and casually said without even looking back.
" My Lord, it's important." The person said through the door, not daring to enter without permission.
" Wilbur? Come in." Recognizing his butler's voice, he gave permission to face him. Wilbur was an old man and had been serving his lord for decades now. They met up at the World Trade Center on the day of the inauguration, after which he promptly headed to Japan on some business.
" Good or bad?" The man asked.
" I don't dare to judge my lord. You can look for yourself." The old man handed him a folder filled with the latest report. The young man accepted it but didn't get into it immediately, just laid it to the side, waiting for Wilbur to leave.
" Lord?"
" I am already aware of everything; you know that I have eyes and ears everywhere." The man didn't speak further, knowing he would get the message, but Wilbur stood like a brick wall.
" You know, I don't like dogs barking at me when I already told them what to do. Who is it this time?" The man immediately knew that someone had gone behind his back and protested to Wilbur to persuade him.
" The people in the EU and few members in countries surrounding the coasts. There has also been a disturbance in our contacts in the USA, and even in South Korea, we are facing some resistance. They are asking us if it is time to act before it's too late-"
" Who do they think they are?" The man slammed the desk, which made Wilbur fall to the ground, begging for mercy.
" My Lord, I didn't have any choice. I have been hearing whispers that few people are against you taking the throne due to recent failures. Even your father is worried; we need the full support of our vassals in fear of them switching to your rivals if you can't keep them happy."
" So there were still remnants of resistance left in my own home? Did they already forget what happened five years ago? Did I have to remind them again?" The man said in a chilling voice that frightened Wilbur to the core.
He had seen how cruel his master could be, and no one believed him when he warned the other party, even going against his orders. The rebellion lasted thirty-one hours before all parties involved were thoroughly crushed.
No one knew about the single biggest massacre in the twenty-first century because no one even knew they existed. Everything was calculated, and despite a few hiccups, everything went according to his lord's plan.
Carefully calculating his enemy's moves and taking the helm for a global operation was so impressive that the head personally announced him as an official successor. But now, similar people had emerged from the shadows, which meant there would be another cleansing in the future.
Wilbur was unsure if the organization would take such a significant blow again. It would set them back a decade, but that was not a problem because they were already that much ahead of everyone in technology and power. That's why he knew if push came to shove, his lord wouldn't hesitate to cause another river of blood to flow!
