Chapter 131 [Bonus ]Chef's Bane

" You seem awfully blissful today," Robert commented, hearing his wife's humming.

" I am. Today I planned something special." Laura said mysteriously.

" I don't recall anything special about the day."

" It's our son's first time on the set. I consider that special."

" Oh, That. Are you going to accompany him? You still remember the last time you did something like that, right?"

" I was perfectly prepared for it. No one suspected a thing. I had to use some other excuse this time, or Amelia would get rowdy again."

" Can you blame her? She had to juggle two jobs at once. Watching over two children is a hard job." Robert said with a smug look.

" Now you are a comedian? Worry not; you will be coming with me."

" What? I don't remember ever agreeing to such a deal."

" And you have to get rid of that businessman talk. Don't worry; I have a perfect plan."

Robert wanted to object, but his love for her didn't allow him to; everyone knew that he had been smitten since the first time he saw her.

And this was exactly why he loved her. Unlike himself, she was fearless, spontaneous, and always stuck to the rules.

" Haah, What do you have in mind?" He sighed and decided to hear her plan first.

" Let me borrow your phone and call Paul. We will need him too."

Paul felt something was off since the morning. He was getting bad vibes for some reason and spacing out because of it.

" Honey, are you alright?" His wife asked him during breakfast.

" Yeah, I am fine. But for some reason, I am getting a bad feeling." He said.

" That is not a good sign. You don't look tired--"

Suddenly the phone rang, and his boss's caller ID popped on the phone. He picked it up to find that someone else was on the phone.

" Paul, We have lots to do today. Come quickly. Say Hi to Denise for me. Tell her I will be dropping by soon."

Paul didn't even respond before the line was cut from the other side.

" Who was it?"

" Laura? She summoned me, saying that it was urgent."

" That girl! She was always so hasty."

" We have to postpone our arrangement. I have to go now."

" Alright."

Upon reaching the estate, Paul quickly reached the study room to find the couple waiting for him. He feared something bad must have happened. His mind was rushing, guessing several scenarios while formulating a plan to deal with it.

" You are here. How quickly could we arrange top chefs around the area?" Laura asked.

" Huh, Chef? You mean for cooking?"

" Yes, We have to gather the whole nine yards. I don't care if they had to shut down their restaurant for the day, but I want everyone."

" You could have told me about it on the phone. But may I ask why?"

" She plans to hold a celebration party outside the studio for Samuel," Robert said with a complicated expression. Her wife could be quite childish on certain occasions.

Paul understood the rest without their explanation. It was not the first time something like this was presented in front of him.

" I could contact the top establishment. They would be more than happy to provide support."

He looked at his watch; he was familiar with Samuel's routine before continuing --

" We still have more than eight hours. They could prepare something appropriate for the occasion.

" Good, Both of us will also be joining! We can't miss it."

" Excuse me? I don't think it is a good idea." Paul rejected the idea in a heartbeat. It was not like some President's meeting; they were talking about the Head of Rothschild.

If word got out, it would pose a huge risk to their safety. In his right mind, Paul would never agree to such a thing.

" Don't worry; it is not like we will make a public appearance. Robert will be a normal cook while I will take the helm as Samuel's mother."

"That's-I still think it will be a bad idea." Paul imagined how it would play out. Robert as a cool? He could not fathom such a situation.

" Contact, David. I am sure he would be happy to help." Laura was not backing down, which made it harder for Paul to convince her.

Soon, David joined, and Paul got him up to speed.

" Sure. I know plenty in our ranks who are great cooks. We have to prepare our meals when we do reconnaissance missions."

" You were supposed to object to the idea. Why are you joining them suddenly?" Paul exclaimed. He was sure that David would back him up.

"We only get a few chances to do such a mission. Besides, everyone was also curious about the young master. You know, how close he had gotten with the others."

Paul could not resist any further. If you could not defeat them, you should join them, which is exactly what he did.

Every large hotel chain and renowned restaurant got the call that morning, and they sent their best people for the job.

Everyone knew why they did it. It would be priceless if they could impress the Rothschild family even a little bit. With the connection to the big dog, any new or old establishment would soar to new heights in their field.

For the next six hours, everyone prepared the meals best suited for the occasion; Laura took the commander role, which played into her management skills, while Robert took the corner stand to act as a chef.

A whole Platoon of Ghost soldiers acted as his subordinates. Unfortunately, their dishes didn't pass Laura's test, so they donated everything from their counter.

But Laura noticed they were happy with the results; it's like they purposefully sabotaged it. Later she discovered that someone orchestrated the whole plan as a means to not work behind the station.

The soldiers disguised themselves to infiltrate the studio to watch Samuel's live performance. It was a brilliant plan, but it got exposed because Robert couldn't lie to his wife.

They paid the price, but ultimately, they achieved their goal. To witness their young master in all his glory!
